HACRIDE Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
February 22, 2010French progressive metal band HACRIDE has parted ways with its original drummer Olivier Laffond and has replaced him with Mike Roponus (OM MANI).
Commented HACRIDE vocalist Samuel Bourreau: "We've been using Mike's services over the past few months because of Olivier's wife pregnancy. It was originally supposed to be a temporary situation, but he decided to quit the band to focus on his new family responsibilities, which we perfectly understand. It feels a bit weird for us because we have had the same stable lineup since the band's birth. On top of being a great friend, Mike has proved to be one of the best drummers known to us. We are glad to have him as a full member of HACRIDE."
Mike Roponus was officially announced as HACRIDE's new drummer during the band's February 18 concert in Toulouse, France. Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.
HACRIDE's follow-up to 2007's "Amoeba", entitled "Lazarus", was released last year via Listenable Records. The CD was recorded at Loko Studio in Normandie, France with producers Franck Hueso and Marc Casanova.
